1971年9月17日，南大美术协会与东南亚美术协会联合主办的东南亚大专中学生美术创作比赛入选作品展览开幕。展览将于9月18、19日在维多利亚纪念堂举行，由马、印、菲、泰、缅、越、香港和新加坡大专、中学生的340余幅作品组成，展示各国不同风格，提供观摩、比较与提高机会。马来西亚艺术学院院长将率领学生南来参展，主办当局特印数百张招贴宣传，呼吁广大观众莅临参观。

On September 17, 1971, the joint exhibition of selected works from the Southeast Asian College Student Art Creation Competition, co-hosted by Nanyang University Art Society and Southeast Asian Art Association, opened. The exhibition, held at Victoria Memorial Hall on September 18 and 19, featured over 340 works from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore, showcasing various styles from different countries and providing opportunities for observation, comparison, and improvement. The director of the Malaysian Institute of Art led students to participate in the exhibition, and the organizers printed hundreds of posters to invite the public to visit.
